second chance
i'm starting to feel a warmth
that i've long extinguished
feelings placed under lock and key
lost in the pain and agony
of relationships lost
tossed into the years of yesterday
desires i've no longer desire
the lies i refuse to hear
masquerading bright faces
of a unsatisfied frown
the consideration of another
that is just using precious space
but now the warmth is seeping
deep within my darkened spaces
igniting lost fires
igniting deeply within me
creating a bright light
that has been brought upon me
smiles without effort
tingles of sweet desire
that have me delightfully thinking
a future of a peaceful union
that once existed
wow the feeling of happiness
with yet a second chance
